Peaceful Zzz Stress-Relax is a melatonin-free formula for better sleep and a life with minimal anxiety. The product features the patented extract Maizinol (derived from unmodified corn leaves), which mimics the action of melatonin and contributes to the reduction of cortisol levels - a biomarker of stress.
Using a proprietary extraction and enrichment process, Maizinol is standardized to 0.2% 6-methoxybenzoxazolinone (6-MBOA). Its unique composition has a remarkable effect on cellular receptors that increase levels of melatonin and serotonin. These hormones lead to improved sleep quality, reduced cortisol production, and balanced mood. Like melatonin, Maizinol works with the body's natural sleep-wake cycle to increase the time spent in deep sleep. It helps improve the quality of sleep at night without causing daytime drowsiness.
A double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial involved adults aged 19 to 73 who took either 250 mg or 500 mg of Maizinol extract daily approximately one hour before bedtime for four weeks. The positive effects of taking it were found to be dose-dependent. Participants taking 500 mg experienced a 49% improvement in overall sleep quality, as measured by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and a fitness tracker. They also had a 47% increase in the duration of deep sleep (up to 30 minutes longer) and a 9% increase in total sleep time.
