Keltisch Zeezout met Algen - Celtic Seasalt - 200 g
Celtic sea salt with algae - Celtic Seasalt - 200g
Mattisson's Celtic Sea Salt with Algae is hand harvested in Brittany, France and further enriched with algae. It has a grayish hue and contains a huge amount of important minerals: potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, phosphorus, manganese, etc. Its mineral composition and color are due to the way the clay was extracted, and some of the minerals are additionally added. It has high humidity and is slightly greasy to the touch. In this variant, the salt is difficult to grind and, if it is desired to use it in smaller crystals, it must be left in the air until the moisture evaporates. It is believed to be able to strengthen the immune system and improve brain function. Celtic salt contains the least sodium and the most calcium and magnesium, compared to other types of salt. Due to the content of a small amount of sodium, gray salt is very gentle on the body. Its properties are relatively close to pink Himalayan salt.
What is the role of algae
Mattisson's Celtic sea salt is enriched with three types of popular culinary algae - Nori, Dulse and Ulva, which give a specific taste and add a large amount of iodine. Dulse seaweed is a protein food with a nice nutty taste. Ulva are the so-called "sea salad" algae. Nori are without an intrusive taste, but with many useful substances in their composition.
Useful properties of the body from Celtic salt
- Helps recovery after exercise
Sodium is involved in muscle contraction, and its loss through sweat or other fluids can cause muscle spasms.
- Supports electrolyte balance
Electrolytes are atoms in body fluids that carry an electrical charge and are essential for many processes in the body, from nerve impulses to fluid balance.
- Regulates blood pressure and supports the nervous system
By retaining water in the body, salt protects against hypotension and supports the function of the nervous system.
- It has an antibacterial effect
Due to its antiseptic properties, salt inhibits putrefactive processes in the digestive system.
- It replenishes the iodine deficiency
Prolonged lack of iodine can provoke diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular and bone systems, neurological disorders, and in children it can lead to developmental delay.
- Maintains hydration by retaining moisture in cells
The lack of fluid in the muscles and tissues leads to a feeling of chronic fatigue, cramps and lack of strength.
