Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoid antioxidants that are concentrated in the eyes, where they protect the lens and retina from damage from toxic free radicals and exposure to sunlight. Natural Factors uses LuteinRich™, which is a natural source, pure, highly biologically active and extracted from marigold petals. LuteinRich is not exposed to radiation and does not contain GMOs.
Lutein is the yellow-orange carotenoid that powerfully supports the eyes, lungs and arteries from free radical damage. Lutein and its related zeaxanthin are concentrated in the eyes, where they help absorb harmful blue light, convert singlet oxygen, and inhibit lipid peroxidase.
