Vitamin B3, niacin, 500 mg
Vitamin B3 has two forms – niacin and niacinamide. Both have the same vitamin activity, but sometimes niacinamide is preferred because of the unpleasant effect of niacin that many people experience. The reaction is called a "niacin rash" and causes the skin to become temporarily red, warm, and tickly. In addition, niacinamide contains more triglycerides and lowers cholesterol levels more severely. Unlike niacin, however, niacinamide is not recommended for circulatory problems.
Niacin is vital for the metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. It significantly affects blood cholesterol levels when taken in large amounts and can prevent the passage of cholesterol from the liver into the bloodstream. In addition, niacin increases the levels of lipoproteins in the cell known as "good" cholesterol and is a powerful protective agent in cardiovascular disease, hypercholesterolemia, atherosclerosis.
Advantages:
- helps reduce "bad" LDL cholesterol
- supports good HDL cholesterol
- helps in the metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates
- supports the cardiovascular system
