Grünlipp Muschelkonzentrat / Green-lipped mussel of the German company Karl Minck Naturheilmittel is a food supplement that contains green-lipped mussel concentrate ( Perna canaliculus ). The product has a beneficial effect on joint health and the functioning of the musculoskeletal system. Green-lipped mussel extract has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antihypertensive effects. It supports the gastrointestinal microbiota and plays an important role in the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, asthma and other chronic inflammatory conditions.
Perna canaliculus (green-lipped mussel) is found only in New Zealand waters and is cultivated and produced for both the food and pharmaceutical industries worldwide.
Green-lipped mussels are extremely rich in a variety of nutrients. They are a valuable source of the anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids, especially eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
