Aronia is characterized by the highest levels of polyphenols in nature. It is richer in polyphenols even than blueberries. These polyphenolic compounds are called anthocyanins and contribute to the production of superoxide dismutase.
A double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in adults who took 300 mg of aronia extract daily for 2 months found that this led to a 29% increase in superoxide dismutase, as well as increased levels of another powerful antioxidant, glutathione.
Extramel® is a patented concentrate from a special variety of French melon, which is characterized by high SOD activity. This in turn leads to a longer preservation of its freshness and juiciness. Extramel® is designed to stimulate the production of superoxide dismutase.
In preclinical studies, participants taking 10 mg of Extramel® melon pulp concentrate daily were found to reduce fatigue, anxiety, and stress, increase energy levels, and increase SOD levels in various organs and tissues.
