Nature's Way activated carbon is extracted from coconut shell and has a powerful adsorbing effect. This means that each particle contains tiny chambers and cavities that "trap" and "bind" the chemicals and gases found in the digestive system and carry them out of the body through the excretory system.

In addition to its adsorbing properties for poisoning, activated charcoal can help lower cholesterol levels. Some studies suggest that it can be used as a hangover aid and also to relieve conditions such as diarrhea, bloating and pain in people with digestive disorders.
