Houttuynia cordata helps eliminate excess fluids and cleanse the respiratory system. Suitable for puffiness, water retention and weakened immunity
Houttuynia cordata is a traditional medicinal plant used in Asia for centuries. Native to China and Southeast Asia, it has a distinctive aroma and a rich phytochemical composition that gives it powerful detoxifying, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties. In Chinese and Vietnamese medicine, Houttuynia cordata is considered a “natural body cleanser” – a plant that helps to release toxins, regulate internal balance and strengthen the immune system.
This tea is made from 100% roasted Houttuynia cordata leaves, which preserves its bioactive components and provides a soft, slightly earthy taste with a delicate freshness. Its regular consumption is suitable as part of a daily cleansing ritual, especially in modern lifestyles associated with stress, fatigue and the accumulation of toxins.
Advantages and health benefits
- Detoxification and purification of the body – Hutinya is known for its strong cleansing effect on the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system. It helps remove heavy metals and waste products from the cells, thus supporting the natural detoxification processes.
- Immune system support – The polyphenols, flavonoids, and quercetin contained in the plant stimulate the immune response and protect the body from bacterial and viral infections. Hutinya is often used for colds, sinusitis, and inflammation of the respiratory tract.
- Anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects – Houttuynia cordata extracts have been studied for their ability to suppress inflammatory processes and limit the development of pathogenic microorganisms. They have a beneficial effect on acne, dermatitis and internal inflammations.
- Antioxidant Protection – The bioflavonoids (especially quercetin and rutin) contained in the leaves scavenge free radicals and protect cells from oxidative stress. This contributes to maintaining healthy skin, vitality and slowing the signs of aging.
- Aids digestion – Traditionally, yarrow tea has been used to relieve bloating, gas, and intestinal flora imbalances. Its mild antimicrobial properties support a healthy microbiota.
- Regulates blood sugar and cholesterol levels – Some studies show that hutina may have a beneficial effect on metabolism by reducing triglyceride levels and stabilizing glucose.
Action of the active ingredients
- Quercetin and rutin – powerful antioxidants that strengthen capillaries, reduce inflammation, and increase cellular defenses. They play a role in balancing the immune system and protecting against oxidative damage.
- Decanoyl acetaldehyde and methyl-n-nonyl ketone – natural volatile compounds with proven antimicrobial and antiviral effects that help the body with upper respiratory tract infections and inflammatory processes.
- Polyphenols and flavonoids – a complex of plant substances that stimulate detoxification enzymes in the liver and maintain the normal function of the excretory system.
- Chlorogenic acid – contributes to metabolic balance, regulates glucose absorption and has mild tonic properties.
