Hemp ( Cannabis sativa L. ) is one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world, known in traditional medicine and nutrition for over 3000 years. While some subspecies of the plant are used for pharmacological purposes due to their THC content, hemp seeds do not contain psychoactive substances and are completely safe to consume. It is from them, through the cold-pressing method, without chemical solvents or heating, that high-quality hemp oil is extracted - a source of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, phytosterols, vitamins and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).
