LACTOFER Fermenti from the Italian company Paladin Pharma is a dietary supplement based on the probiotic strains Bifidobacterium breve BR03 and Lactobacillus acidophilus LA02, aimed at promoting the balance of intestinal flora.
LACTOFER Fermenti vials allow the intake of lyophilized lactic ferments and spores in the form of an improvised suspension in fructose syrup, pleasantly flavored with berries. Provides 2 billion active probiotics per vial.

Probiotic Lactofer can be useful in conditions of intestinal dysbiosis caused by organic factors (colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, etc.), nutritional factors (intolerance) and antibiotic therapy. The dietary supplement is effective in cases of gas and constipation caused by altered functionality of the intestinal microbial flora.
The product does not contain allergens. Milk-free (no dairy derivatives) and gluten-free.

L. acidophilus has been extensively studied as a probiotic, and evidence suggests that it may help reduce cholesterol levels and that it may be more effective than other types of probiotics in this regard.
In a study conducted in 60 people with functional bowel disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome, taking a combination of L. acidophilus and another probiotic for one to two months relieved bloating.
A similar study found that taking L. acidophilus alone also reduced abdominal pain in patients with irritable bowel syndrome.
L. acidophilus can increase the amount of other healthy bacteria in the gut, including other lactobacilli and bifidobacteria.
Another study carefully examined the effects of L. acidophilus on the gut, concluding that taking it as a probiotic increased the expression of genes in the gut that are involved in the immune response.
Bifidobacterium breve aids in digestion by producing acetic and lactic acid to break down food, including indigestible plant fibers. By lowering the pH of the digestive tract, Bifidobacterium breve also helps suppress the growth and multiplication of disease-causing bacteria.
The probiotic Bifidobacterium breve has been found to develop normal intestinal microbiota and participate in protective mechanisms.
Another major benefit of Bifidobacterium breve is its ability to fight obesity. Bifidobacterium breve BR03 is a unique bifidobacterial strain that was selected for its potential for weight management. A study concluded that supplementation with this probiotic strain can significantly contribute to reducing fat mass in adults prone to obesity.
Other research suggests that this probiotic may help improve serum levels of total cholesterol, fasting glucose, and insulin.
Like many probiotics, Bifidobacterium breve is useful for reducing constipation and diarrhea.
