The sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is an annual crop native to North America. In Europe, the plant was brought in 1510 and sown in the botanical garden of Madrid. The sunflower is grown for the seeds, from which a vegetable oil with excellent nutritional and taste qualities is obtained. Sunflower seeds and their sprouts contain unsaturated fatty acids - linoleic and oleic, as well as phytosterols, together they lead to the lowering of cholesterol levels. This makes sunflower sprouts useful for cardiovascular diseases and high blood pressure. In addition, they are rich in vitamins and minerals. The vitamin E they contain is an important antioxidant. In addition to regulating and restoring vital processes in the body at all ages, sunflower sprouts also help with colds. Regular use of sunflower sprouts rejuvenates the body and increases its performance. They also have anti-inflammatory effects, which as a result reduce the symptoms of asthma, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The content of calcium, zinc, magnesium, copper, selenium and other trace elements is high. Sunflower sprouts are extremely pleasant in taste, they resemble the taste of hazelnut.
