Description
Scutellaria belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It grows in the southern part of Eastern Siberia near Lake Baikal, in China, Mongolia, Japan, Korea.
It is a perennial shrub with branched stems. Its leaves are long and narrow. The flowers are purple and arranged in racemes. The roots are thick and fleshy. They reach up to 50 cm in length. Most of the useful ingredients are collected in them. Therefore, they are usually used for medicinal purposes.
Composition and useful properties
Slemnik Baikal has valuable healing properties due to its rich chemical composition. Its important ingredient is the substance baicalin - a unique plant compound that is not found in any other plant. It is characterized by strong antioxidant, antimicrobial and antiviral properties, with a pronounced sedative effect.
The composition of the medicinal plant Baikal skullcap also includes: coumarins, baicalein, luteolin, steroids, aptigenin, tannins, saponins, pyrocatechins, resinous substances, essential oils. The herb contains many micro- and macroelements: iron, selenium, iodine, molybdenum, manganese, cobalt, copper, zinc, potassium, calcium and magnesium.
In addition to the Scutellaria herb extract, the product includes several other important components:
