Nature's Way Fo-ti contains a standardized 610 mg of this herb in each capsule. It is used to stimulate the energy of the kidneys - the organs that, according to Chinese medicine, are responsible for vital energy. Kidney strength is determined at birth depending on the energy reserves of the parents and can be strengthened throughout life using herbs and practices to support the kidneys. The kidneys are in good vital shape when one has good stamina, good digestion, proper functioning of bones and muscles, smooth skin and healthy hair. Signs of weak kidneys include what we think of as symptoms of aging, joint pain, low energy levels, wrinkled skin and graying hair. Fo-Ti is recommended for fatigue, recovery after illness or surgery, impotence, low libido and arthritis.
