EKO nasiona na kiełki Gryka 50g is eco buckwheat seeds (Sium sisarum) for growing sprouts at home. To get sprouts from buckwheat requires different preparation than for other seeds. First, the buckwheat seeds are washed well in a strainer under running water to wash off the starch. Buckwheat is poured into a deep vessel and soaked for 30 minutes in water in a ratio of 3:1 /1 cup of buckwheat - 3 cups of water/. The soaked buckwheat is washed again in a colander to remove the starch separated during soaking so as not to hinder the germination process. The washed buckwheat is well drained and transferred to a tray for germination. Cover with cheesecloth and leave at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Every 8 to 12 hours, it is necessary to rinse the buckwheat abundantly with lukewarm water. When the sprouts reach the desired length /1-2 cm/, they are poured onto kitchen paper or a soft cloth and dried. They are ready to be stored in the refrigerator for several days, they can be frozen, dried or ground into flour. For coarse seeds, e.g. peas, soybeans, chickpeas, etc., or seeds with shells, e.g. pumpkin, sunflower, sprouts, cut before consumption, and fine seeds are used whole.
