Kanchanar is a popular Ayurvedic herb. It is also called "mountain ebony". The botanical name of the plant is Bauhinia variegata. It is a species of flowering plant in the Legume family native to Southeast Asia, southern China and west to India. A large deciduous tree with an average height of up to 10 meters. Kanchnar bark and flowers are often used in Ayurveda.
