Action of the active ingredients:
Sodium alginate forms a gel in the presence of water, thus preventing the return of stomach contents after eating into the esophagus.
Prickly pear (Prickly pear) works synergistically with sodium alginate, enhancing its ability to prevent stomach contents from entering the esophagus.
Sodium bicarbonate, in addition to having antacid properties, reacts with the hydrochloric acid present in the stomach to form carbon dioxide bubbles that carry the alginate gel to the stomach, thus preventing reflux.
Melatonin plays a role in improving gastroesophageal reflux disease by promoting esophageal protection. It can improve lower esophageal sphincter function and reduce gastric acid secretion.
