Vitaminkapseln mit Grünlipp- Muschelkonzentrat / Green-lipped mussel and vitamins is a dietary supplement of the German company Karl Minck Naturheilmittel. The formula contains green-lipped mussel concentrate in combination with vitamin C, vitamin E and B vitamins. The product supports the general health of the body and contributes to the normal condition of bones and joints.
Action of the main ingredients:
- Green-lipped mussel extract
Green-lipped clams are best known for their ability to powerfully reduce pain, increase range of motion, and improve quality of life in people with osteoarthritis. Their powerful anti-inflammatory properties have also been shown to improve the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract by nourishing the good bacteria found in its lower layers.
Green Mussel is a dietary supplement derived from a species of bivalve mollusc, Perna canaliculus, which thrives in New Zealand. The extract contains omega-3 fatty acids, amino acids, minerals and carbohydrates. Mussels are a good source of zinc and an excellent source of iron, selenium, glucosamine, chondroitin and B vitamins. In addition, green-lipped mussels have been shown to contain glycosaminoglycans, substances with joint-protective properties that improve joint metabolism. Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties and are important for maintaining the structure and function of joint cells.
Green-lipped mussels also work synergistically with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and may reduce their side effects.
- Vitamin C
Vitamin C has strong antioxidant properties and protects molecules such as proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and nucleic acids from damage. Vitamin C is also a cofactor – a molecule that assists enzymes in chemical reactions. It is also necessary for the synthesis of collagen, carnitine and catecholamines. The vitamin supports immune system function, wound healing, fat metabolism, neurotransmitter production, and blood vessel formation, among many other functions.
The role of vitamin C in immunity is significant. It stimulates the production of white blood cells, especially neutrophils, lymphocytes and monocytes, as well as their ability to detect pathogens.
Vitamin C is also involved in a wide range of physiological processes. It affects, for example, the physiological levels of other vitamins. It participates in the regeneration of vitamin E from its oxidized form and improves the absorption of non-heme iron from food.
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. This vitamin stimulates the functioning of the immune system and increases the body's resistance to infections. Vitamin E is extremely important for healthy bones - it reduces inflammation in the joints and increases antioxidant potential. Taking this vitamin balances the amount of free radicals in the human body and protects against the loss of bone density. Vitamin E may be able to preserve bone mass and reduce the risk of bone fractures, even in postmenopausal women. Some studies have found that vitamin E can have a positive effect on the treatment of osteoarthritis by stimulating the growth of cartilage cells.
- Vitamins of group B
- Vitamin B1
Also called thiamine, vitamin B 1 is involved in the conversion of glucose into energy. It is essential for the normal functioning of the heart, brain, nervous system and muscles.
Also called riboflavin, vitamin B2 is involved in converting other B vitamins into forms the body can use. It is essential for normal cell function and growth and helps protect the body from potential damage from free radicals, which play a role in the development of various types of cancer, cardiovascular disease and aging.
Vitamin B6 helps your body use proteins, carbohydrates and fats and is needed for normal brain development, immune and nerve functions. It is also involved in more than 100 chemical reactions in the body, as well as in the formation of amino acids, red blood cells and antibodies. Low levels of vitamin B6 are common in rheumatoid arthritis and are associated with higher chances of inflammation.
Vitamin B 12 is essential for the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system, for the production of red blood cells and DNA, and for the production of energy. Vitamin B12 , along with vitamin B6 and folate, also reduces the concentration of the amino acid homocysteine, which increases with age and is found in high levels in people with rheumatoid arthritis.
Vitamin B7 has a key role in relieving muscle and joint inflammation. Biotin supplements can help tissue repair as well as help manage joint pain.
Pantothenic acid is involved in the regulation of osteoclastogenesis. It has therapeutic potential in the prevention of disorders associated with bone loss.
Folate is essential for healthy cell growth, the formation of DNA and RNA, and the prevention of birth defects and the development of certain cancers. People with osteoarthritis have a low intake of vitamin B9 (folic acid).
